Victory Junction

Enriching the lives of children with serious illnesses and conditions

Our Story

Victory Junction was the dream of Adam Petty, a fourth generation race car driver from the famous Petty family and a rising star in the sport. Adam’s passion for racing was equaled only by his compassion for others, especially children. Between races, he often visited children in pediatric hospitals. After his tragic death in a racing accident, Adam’s family and friends came together to realize his dream of a camp to serve children with serious medical conditions.

With land donated by Richard and Lynda Petty, the Petty family spearheaded a capital campaign in 2002 and received donations from corporations, individuals and foundations to build what would become Victory Junction, a NASCAR-themed camp located in Randleman, N.C.

Free from the confines of disease, illness or disability, children discover that they can just be kids! How does this happen? Victory Junction is a medically safe and exhilarating camp that challenges children who have a serious medical condition to try things they never imagined possible. As they conquer activities like Acting, Music, Adventure Tower, Fishing, Swimming, Archery, Games, Singing, Arts & Crafts, Horseback Riding, Woodworking, Boating, Miniature Golf, Bowling, and Painting, children build confidence that will shape how they view the rest of their lives.

The magic happens on our lush 84 acres in the rolling hills of Randleman, North Carolina near Greensboro. Once children pass through our gates, the boundaries and limitations they live with on a daily basis disappear and they simply concentrate on having fun! That’s when they shine!

Victory Junction meets the rigorous safety standards of the American Camp Association. Our ACA certification gives families the confidence to know that they are entrusting their child to well-trained, certified professionals.

Our Mission at Victory Junction is to enrich the lives of children with serious illnesses by providing life-changing camping experiences that are exciting, fun and empowering, at no cost to children or their families.

Camp is available to children ages six to 16. Children come to Victory Junction from all over the country and even around the world, and we have served children from all 50 states and 4 countries.  We are a welcome break for kids who spend most of their year receiving medical treatments or attending countless hospital visits. Families never pay for camp because of the generosity of donors.

Some of the illnesses and medical conditions we serve include, but are not limited to, Bleeding Disorders, Burns, Cancer, Cerebral Palsy, Craniofacial Anomalies, Diabetes, Gastrointestinal Diseases, Skin Diseases, Genetic Disorders, Heart Disease, Immunological Disorders, Kidney Disease, Lung Disease, Neurological Disorders, Physical Disabilities, Rheumatic Diseases, Sickle Cell Disease, Skin Diseases and Spina Bifida.
