Winston-Salem's Kathleen Baker rules the pool!
There's nothing like going out with a BANG! On the final day of Olympic swimming, our hometown girl Kathleen Baker swam the backstroke in the first leg of the women's 4x100 individual medley relay - and ended up finishing 1.87 seconds head of Australia to bring home the gold!
Winston-Salem's Baker and her teammates on the relay - Lilly King, Dana Vollmer and Simone Manuel clinched the 1000th overall gold medal for America in the modern Summer Olympics!
The first came in 1896!
Here's to you, Kathleen...and the rest of your incredible teammate setting records in Rio!
