How do you feel about the song "The Christmas Shoes"?

It's one of the most divisive questions of the holiday season since the track was originally released in 2000. The emotional song tells the story spent a full week at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 when it was released that Christmas.

The track, however, is often on lists for the "worst" Christmas songs ever released. So we want YOU to sound off. Do you like the song? Take our poll:

The song tells the story of a young boy who was out looking to buy his mother a pair of shoes on Christmas Eve because "she's been sick for quite a while."

The song's narrator hears the little boy saying his mom has been sick for quite a while, and he wants her to "look beautiful if mama meets Jesus tonight," but he didn't afford them. In the turn of events that could even melt Scrooge's heart, the narrator chips in to help the boy purchase the shoes.

The track's lyrics are often criticized for being too depressing during the holiday season, but in 2002 CBS turned the track into a made-for-TV movie. Rob Lowe and Kimberly Williams-Paisley starred in the emotional film.

We'll be curious to see how YOU vote in our poll above, so let us know.
