Kenny Chesney Tastes Love on 'Tip of My Tongue'

It's the first single from his forthcoming new album

July 12, 2019

It hasn’t been long since Kenny Chesney’s last album, but we’re already getting a new single in advance of the next one. “Tip of My Tongue” is a chill ballad the country legend wrote with pop star Ed Sheeran and Ross Copperman.

“Girl, believe me when I say it's true,” Chesney sings. “Nobody makes me feel the way you do. Well I love you from the morning till the setting sun. I can taste the ocean on the tip of my tongue.”

“Tip of My Tongue” is the first time Chesney ever worked with Sheeran. The “Get Along” singer says the collaboration is a necessary way to stay fresh.

“With all the great songs that have been written, you always want to do something different,” Chesney said. “I wrote this with two guys I really respect as songwriters. It’s one of the most fun sessions I’ve done in a while.”

“It’s funny how a figure of speech can lead you to all kinds of places. When the idea fell out, we all just laughed & went, ‘Well, what can we do with that?’”

Chesney just wrapped up his Songs for the Saints tour in support of his 2018 album. There is no official release date for the follow-up.
