'The Kids Are Alright' actor Eddie Hassell dies at 30 after being shot
A well-known actor from Texas has been killed in a shooting in Grand Prairie over the weekend.
Early Sunday morning 30-year-old Eddie Hassell was found shot to death on Bardin Road near I-30 and Highway 360, CBS DFW reports.
Hassell was taken to a hospital, where he passed away.
Hassell has had parts in TV shows like NBC's science-fiction program "Surface" and the 2010 film "The Kids Are Alright."
Although not confirmed by police, it appears that Hassell was shot during a carjacking, Variety reported, citing Hassell's representative.
In a separate incident, Grand Prairie police captured a suspect wanted in a Sunday morning murder. The victim Jose Mares Romero was found shot on West Jefferson near southwest 23rd Street.
He was taken to the E-R but it was too late to save his life. Now, police confirm they found a Fort Worth man named William Smith near the scene. He was questioned, detained and then charged with murder.
